Today is the final day of the peer support pilot we have been delivering for MSD in Porirua and NaeNae. The evaluation is almost complete and we feel very proud of what we have collectively achieved.
We will be having a hui in Porirua to share our findings on Monday 21st May in the afternoon so save the date and join us for korero and kai!
In the meantime, here are a few snippets of feedback from participants of the pilot plus a photo of our AMAZING team who made the magic happen!
“My family expect me to behave as normal. Anything else I’m pretty sure they’d put me in hospital. To be able to share that, to share with someone who is a peer, it feels like the normal thing to do. It’s so easy and comfortable and trustworthy”. (Participant)
“I believe her when she says I can do it, because she’s been through what I’ve been through, and now she has a job. I don’t have to be scared anymore.” (Participant)
“She was telling me that I could do it too. She’d been there and done that [with her own mental distress], so you believe her. “(Participant)
